Frequently asked questions
Is it compulsory to give when attending church?
Giving is an integral part of the life of a Christian. It is ingrained in the heart of our faith. Jesus freely gave His life for us so we may step into a new life, unshackled from sin, forgiven and set free. For this reason, Jesus said giving is better than receiving. At its heart, giving is not compulsory but an act of love as we follow in His footsteps.
The Bible tells us that no one should give under burden but rather with a willingly generous spirit.
How does Livecity Church receive giving?
From the beginning, we felt it important that giving is between the giver and God alone. For this reason, we don’t take up a specific offering in the church but rather provide ways for the church family to give in a manner that suits themselves. Most of our church congregation give online but we do still offer a way for people to give cash at church if that suits them better.
What happens to the money we give?
Church tithes or offerings mainly go towards the daily running of the church. It pays for rentals, electricity and all the other general things that keep the church running. We also use the funds to grow the kingdom by helping those in need, supporting ministries that we are affiliated with and outreaches.
